Terms of Use

Last updated: October 10, 2026

These terms apply to the El Recreo app for iPhone, iPad and Mac and to this website. El Recreo is made by an independent developer, Aleksandr Riakhin (“we”, “us”). By using the app or the site you agree to these terms.

The app

The app is distributed through Apple’s App Store. Your use of it is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If these terms and Apple’s agreement conflict, Apple’s agreement applies to the extent of the conflict.

We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own learning. Please don’t copy, resell, redistribute or reverse-engineer the app or its lessons.

Purchases

The first lessons are free. Further content, such as a full level, is sold as a one-time in-app purchase; there is no subscription. Prices are shown in the app before you buy. Payments and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store’s terms. A purchase is tied to your Apple ID: you can restore it on your other devices from the app.

Learning content

We work hard to make lessons accurate and useful, and to describe how Spanish is really spoken in Buenos Aires. Language is alive, though: usage varies between people, neighborhoods and situations, and slang changes. Lessons are for learning and are not professional, legal, medical or travel advice. Speech recognition and automated feedback can make mistakes.

The characters and their stories are fictional. Any resemblance to real people is a coincidence.

Ownership

The app, its lessons, text, audio, illustrations, design and the El Recreo name and logo belong to us or our licensors. Photos and illustrations are used under licence from their creators. Your progress data belongs to you.

Songs suggested in the app (“Banda sonora”) belong to their artists and labels. The app doesn’t include or play them; it links to Apple Music and Spotify, whose own terms apply. We aren’t affiliated with the artists or those services. Apple Music is a trademark of Apple Inc. Spotify is a trademark of Spotify AB.

Availability

El Recreo is not released yet. Once it is, we may update, change or discontinue features or content. We’ll try to give notice of significant changes.

No warranty

The app and this site are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don’t promise that they will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that you will reach a particular level of Spanish.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or the site. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use El Recreo after a change means you accept the updated terms.
