This Privacy Policy describes how Aleksandr Riakhin (“PureBite”, “we”) handles information when you use the PureBite iOS app and this website.
What PureBite is
PureBite is an intermittent fasting tracker with optional recipes for your eating window. You do not create an account to use the app.
Data stored on your device and in your iCloud
The following stays on your device and is never uploaded to PureBite servers:
- Fasting plans, active session, history, and streaks
- Reminder preferences
- Mood check-ins, feelings, and optional notes
- Unit preference (US or Metric)
- Saved recipes and shopping list items
- App settings (including theme where applicable)
If you use iCloud, your fasting plans, active session, history, streaks, mood check-ins, saved recipes, and shopping list are also saved to your own private iCloud storage (Apple's iCloud key-value storage and your private CloudKit database), so they come back after you reinstall the app and appear on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. This copy is stored by Apple under your Apple Account; PureBite cannot read it. To remove it, delete the app's data in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage, or turn off iCloud for PureBite.
Deleting the app removes the data stored on the device. The Lock Screen widgets read a copy of your current fast from storage shared with the app on your device; it is removed with the app.
Location (Ramadan only)
PureBite may request your device location only when you enable the Ramadan plan, so the app can compute approximate local Fajr and Maghrib times on your device. The times are calculated on your device and your location is not sent to PureBite servers. To show your city name, iOS looks up the location with Apple's geocoding service. You can deny permission and continue using other fasting plans. Astronomical times may differ from your mosque — follow local guidance when they add precaution minutes.
Information we may process
- Usage analytics. Firebase Analytics receives app opens, screen views, and feature events — for example that a fast was started or ended and which plan it used, that a mood check-in was saved (not the mood itself), paywall views, recipe views, and search result counts (not what you typed). It uses an app-instance identifier, not your name, email, or advertising identifier.
- Crash reports. Firebase Crashlytics receives crash logs and basic device information (model, iOS version) so we can fix bugs.
- Recipe catalog. The app may download PureBite’s owned recipe catalog (recipes, locales, ingredients, images) from PureBite’s CDN so you can browse and open recipes. After a catalog generation is installed, recipe reads can work without further network access.
- Purchases. Plus subscriptions and lifetime unlocks are processed by Apple In-App Purchase. We use RevenueCat to validate entitlements. RevenueCat receives your purchase history linked to a random ID created by the app on your device (not your name or Apple ID). Apple and RevenueCat process purchase data under their own policies.
- Website. This site may use Google Analytics (property G-SLMY5TN10Y) for anonymous traffic metrics.
Notifications
If you enable fasting reminders, iOS delivers local notifications. PureBite does not send push marketing notifications.
What we do not collect
- Name, email, or phone as part of an account (there is no account)
- Contacts, photos, or microphone data
- Location uploaded to PureBite servers (see Ramadan section above)
- A food diary or calorie log
- Your mood, feelings, or notes (they stay on your device and in your own iCloud)
- Text you type into search or the shopping list
Third parties
- Google / Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics
- Cloudflare (recipe catalog CDN / Worker)
- RevenueCat
- Apple (App Store / In-App Purchase)
These providers act as our processors and are required by their terms to protect the data they handle for us at a level at least equal to this policy.
How long we keep data
- Analytics: Firebase Analytics event data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics property, at most 14 months.
- Crash reports: Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days.
- Purchases: RevenueCat keeps purchase records for as long as needed to provide your Plus access and meet tax and accounting obligations.
- On-device data: until you delete it in the app or delete the app.
- iCloud copy: until you delete it from your iCloud storage or turn off iCloud for PureBite.
Your choices
- Turn off analytics and crash reports anytime in the app: You → Share analytics & crash reports. Turning it off stops collection and clears the analytics data stored on your device.
- Notifications: turn reminders off in the app or in iOS Settings.
- Subscriptions: manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Delete your data: email xander1100001@gmail.com to request deletion of analytics and purchase records we hold. If you bought Plus, include the Apple order ID from your purchase receipt so we can find the matching record. We respond within 30 days.
Questions about privacy: xander1100001@gmail.com.
Children
PureBite is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app or site after changes means you accept the revised policy.
